Gameshark2v3 Backup ..causing games to freeze?

When I use the GS2v3 disk, created a new cheat for Splashdown RGWild from codes on Website and started game the cheats have unlocked the characters.. but the game freezes when browsing through them?? The game works fine when not using the GS2.

Since I have not used GS2 in the past I was wondering if this was a common thing for GS2 or is it due to the fact that I am using the b/u instead of original? It takes alot of time to enter new codes so I do not want to waste my time if they are not going to work.

FYI .. I have the Messiah2 1.31 installed.

One game I remember something similar to this happening was "Sly Cooper And The Thievius Raccoonus". That had a protection that didnt allow any modification to the SLUS file. Unfortunately when adding codes/cheats thats where the thing adds them.

It was so highly protected you couldnt even use the GameShark to boot it.

It was a wierd protection. It allowed you to play the game as normal. But when you had to jump to reach something in the game you could never catch it. It was a funny little trick. For a long time there people with swap method modchips were all stuck on the first level.

since you said you were using the backup copy, does it do that to the original game too?

just wondering if it could just be the back up causing that or does some games just not work in this manner.

That reminded me, on the Sly Cooper game it would do that whether you used a backup or an original. You just couldnt use a gameshark or codes whatsoever.

I will try with different combinations of original/backups to try and find if it is the b\u of game or b\u of gameshark causing problem. First I think I will just try a back up of ssx3 and enter codes and see if that works.

From the replies I assume that means I should be able to use the b/u GS2 disks with b/u's of my games and the messiah in v7 console without a problem. So the problem must be either the b/u of my game or b/u of my GS2.....

Thx for the replies....
