Anyone sucessfully applied the Vampire Chronicles PAL-patch?

well, well...
ok i applied the patch to the original cdi-image, got an error message (which is normal like it is written in the nfo-file) and successfully burned it like any other game. But hehe now the whole game doesnt work. I put in the cd, the dc seeks 3 times but then it shows me the audio cd-player. I burned it 3 times and its always the same.
Now my question: Do you experienced the same problems or is it just me?
