Dvd Rs Work On Xbox?!?!?!?!

*the story

OK so while ago I went to this store that sells mod chips in my area, they kinda knew nothing about what they do, (they told me I can't use apps) LOL

but anyways I went there about a mod and they sell burnt games (TERRIBLE; PIRACY)

but basically they told me that was the only reason to buy a mod (they sell games for 15$)

*the end of the story

but the games they sell are on verbatim dvd rs, I now have a mod in my xbox and I tested the dvds,

IT WORKS!!! since they sell games on this brand of dvd r (and lots of people buy) it must mean that they work on all xbox models

lucky for me it happens verbatim is the brand I use!

they showed me the games and I think now I see why MS doesn't want mod chips!

BTW: I am just saying this caz all tutorials tell you to use dvd rws or cd rws and I will test out 2 other brands of dvd rs

Different Xboxs have different dvd drives so even if you burn your games using one brand the same brand may not work for someone else.

Ouch the hurts. Thats more than I get paid for to open up every channel on some one's DirecTV card.

Just out of curiosity where do you live. I've never seen a store that sells modchips. Any are you sure they are really selling pirated copies? Maybe they want to see the original game disk before they will burn you a back up.

You can rent and copy games for cheaper than that, but im not saying you should. Dneray22, i got this funny idea. If your in the US, call 1-888-NOPIRACY . Tell them the name/address of the shop and give detays on their 15 dollar piracy game charge. lol, that would be hilarious when they get caught.

Probably because it is low cost (less than a buck a piece). I use the same brand 4x, burned at 2.4x and get errors. I use other brands and never get errors. I only seem to get em with that brand. I don't suggest it.

yes I am sure it is piracy and I am also sure that a lot of people buy the games, I wouldn't think it is a quincidence that they sell a certain brand and that brand happens to work on my xbox. I think there must be a lot of xboxs that this works with, I know xbox reads verbatim dvd rws fine because I burned linux on one.

by the way: these prices are CAD so they are even cheeper (I think I don't know where you people live though)

oh yeah and they have a BIG sine outside saying that they sell mods, they also flash it with illeagl bios for you but they dont givbe you evox dashbord so that if you wanna burn games, you gotta buy them.

I wouldnt want to do any business with them at all. It's just a matter of time before the hammer falls on them and it could crush you too.
