V5 Magic 3.1 issue, please help!!!

Hi. I've attempted to mod my V5 PS2. However, on the 'S' point, I am getting a short when I use a multimeter between the point you're supposed to solder to, and the top side of the resistor just below (pale green/brown in color). Is this short supposed to exist? They are right next to each other so I thought maybe it's normal.

If anyone could let me know I'd be most grateful.
