Unsecurom won't work with the version on Homeworld2 - nothing will.

unsecurom is waaaay too old and not in development anymore. If you want to backup a securom new game, use Alcohol120% or Blindwrite

There are things that's need to be rembers...

What I know about there isn't away to backup NEW SecuROM (that's are in moste of the new games).

But some guy I think " acidhead" say that it is.

Anyway... in both cases you need a good cd-burner. I've got a good cd-burner...but I haven't been able to backup perfect 1:1 copy of SecuROM (only SafeDisc) so read the topic about backing up SecuROM and read the backup guide that's are in the stickeys!

So heres where i got this guide from if you can read German its ok when you cant use a prog to translate it. Goto www.pcdirekt.de type in the search barso kopieren sie alles. It spits out only 1 result and that is the complete guide that i translated for everybody so they like me can make personal copies.Just backed up the great escape securom new 4.84 works fine
Ps i use either a plexwriter 40/12/40a or liteon 48x both can manage securom 4.84

well guys after the installation of the game and wen i try to play
i get a txt file in the game dir #C:\Program Files\Sierra\Homeworld2\Bin\Release# with the name off "Hw2"
that it says:
##Sun Sep 28 01:47:55 2003
UTIL -- filepath failure, path doesn't exists 'C:\PROGRA~1\Sierra\HOMEWO~1\data\locale\English'
Uing ..profiles\ for profiles folder
Changing from a 32 bit colour depth in winNT (5.1 build 2600), Service Pack 1.##

also in the readme file there is the following paragraf:
Non-standard Resolutions

Homeworld2 has been designed for the standard 4:3 aspect ratio display. However, you can use other any unsupported resolutions of your choosing, such as those listed below. Furthermore, We have included a solution for some non-standard resolutions as listed below. If you're running Homeworld2 on a laptop or other LCD display, you may experience some distortion or stretching of the game screens if you're not running in the recommended resolutions for your specific monitor.

To address this, we've included the following work-around using a command line option switch. In order to specify the resolution that you want to play Homeworld2 in, use the following parameters to set your resolution. Simply cut and paste from the text below into the Homeworld2 shortcut Properties

For Example, the Target of your windows shortcut should read:

C:\Programs\Sierra\Homeworld2\Homeworld2.exe

And if you want to run Homeworld2 in 1024 x 768 resolution, using the following command line switch (typed exactly as):

-w 1024 -h 768

(**note the case sensitive and space sensitive nature of this command line switch where
-w sets the width value and the -h sets the height value.)

Therefore, if you want to run Homeworld2 in 1024 x 768 resolution, the 'Target' field of the Windows shortcut for Homeworld2 should read:

"C:\Programs\Sierra\Homeworld2\Homeworld2.exe" -w 1024 -h 768

You can try using this method to run in any one of the resolutions listed below or others that may not be listed. However, none of them are guaranteed to work in all cases. Here are several examples. Simply cut and paste from the text below into target line after the .exe portion of the existing text.

1152x864 -w 1152 -h 864
1920x1440 -w 1920 -h 1440
2048x1536 -w 2048 -h 1536

I use 1024-768 resolution in my sreen, i tryed the above steps
but nothing.i also tryed in a 800-600 resolution... nothing.
Any help from any of you apriciated.
Thank's in advance.
