hey i just got a dc, but found out after i bought it that it is one of the later models with the copy-protection. so unfortunately, i cant get it to work with any games ive burned. i heard there was a way around this, but couldnt find much information on what to do. so does anyone know if its possible to play cd-rs on these models, and if so, do you know how to do it?

The solution is Bin2Boot : Data/Data selfboot format instead of Audio/Data. You should find info about this around.

Yup one of my dreamcasts is the same way. Data/Data will usually always work. I found reformatting all of my images to be a pain so I went on ebay and bought another one. You might want to consider doing the same becuase they are pretty cheap.

I don't remember where, but I once saw on a website a guide to adjusting something around the laser and then it will work. I've also seen Sega Dreamcast mod-chips for sale - maybe one of those will work?
