I don't have any Xbox so I can't tell if it's true but here is a short tutorial on "How to make images of Xbox dvdrom", maybe it'll help
" <WreckZX2> (((((((((((((((((( BURNING X-BOX & GAMECUBE GAMES USEING CDRWIN ))))))))))))))))))) <WreckZX2> -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <WreckZX2> 1) Insert your original in your CD-ROM. <WreckZX2> 2) Open CDRWin (or any other image extractor) to make an iso image of the game <WreckZX2> on your harddisc. Click on 'Extract Disc/Tracks/Sectors' <WreckZX2> 3) Here are the settings which work for me (!): <WreckZX2> Disc Image/Cuesheet <WreckZX2> File-Format: Automatic <WreckZX2> Reading-Options: <WreckZX2> RAW,CD+G,CD-TEXT and MCN/USRC all UNchecked <WreckZX2> Error Recovery: Ignore <WreckZX2> Jitter Correction: Auto <WreckZX2> Subcode Analyses: Fixed <WreckZX2> Data-Speed: MAX <WreckZX2> Read Retry Count: 10 <WreckZX2> Audio Speed: MAX <WreckZX2> Subcode Threshold: 900 <WreckZX2> There are a lot of reports, that Raw reading also works, but I had problems with it <WreckZX2> enabled. <WreckZX2> 4) Click on 'Start' <WreckZX2> -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <WreckZX2> RECORDING TO A DISC <WreckZX2> -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <WreckZX2> 1) Install Firburner <WreckZX2> 2) Double click on the Cue File For The Game <WreckZX2> 3) Right Click And select burn To CD <WreckZX2> Thats all there is record DAO, and you can try to burn it fast I burnt them at 2X <WreckZX2> Useing PNY Black Diamond CDR's Good LUck and Happy Gameing" Found on Edonkey (the gamecube images process doesn't work with me) |

Do have your normal xbox dashboard or are you running EvolutionX? If you do not have EvoX running on your XBOX you are going to have to download it from somehere, probably IRC. There are some good tutorials on the web on how to do this. Once you have that done you can do the following to backup a game.
On your evoX dashboard look at the IP address. Then go download FlashFXP from www.download.com and install it onto your PC and then goto quick connect. Type in the IP address, the username: xbox, and the password: (should be) xbox. Once you do this you should see a bunch of folders in the window which corespond with the drive letters on the xbox's hard drive. The folder marked "D" is your DVD-ROM folder and contain all the game files. Transfer all of those files over to your PC by selecting all the files and draging them over to the window on the opposite side. After all the files have been transfered you have two options. If you have a fairly new bios, the data burn method should most always work. To do this you will need a program like RecordNow MAX and a DVD-R burner. Basically, burn all the files you have extracted from your DVD via FlashFXP and burn them onto a DVD-R. The other option is to find a program like xISO or simpleISO and create an XBOX iso file and burn that onto a DVD-R. Good luck. Last edited by vmehta211; 29-07-2003 at 12:34. |

sensey i'm not trying to bag you but you'r info is way off dude. first off you can not read a xbox dvd in any pc you have to network the pc / xbox and transfere the game data from the xbox's dvd drive to the pc. the rest you will find how to do in the sticky posts.
read DATA BURN METHOD WITH SCREENSHOTS and EVOX FOR DUMMIES these will give you a good start on things any other questions just ask. |
