If you have a v5 or up either will do, but -r is preferred by the ps2.
Some have reported success with Samsung, but everybody is different. Try several brands until yuo find what works well for you. Generally Ritek is great for everybody.

most of my collection is ritek -r with some verbatim -r. All work great.
