Movie Extraction

Does anybody know of any movie file extractors/enoders for these games?

Or at least can give me info on these formats, or possibly how to make my own extractor.

Guilty Gear XX - Uses a .PAK format, not too sure what it means, never seen this format before.

Metal Gear Solid 2 - MUNGE format

Zone of the Enders 2 - MUNGE format

Kingdom Hearts - Hides the files from explorer, just like FFX

Thanks, any help is appreciated.

I believe that the Metal Gear Solid 2 (SoL) "movies" you are asking about are actually in-game rendered cutscenes (for lack of better terms). Meaning that they arent actually movies to speak and u wont be able to rip them, a capture card would be your only chance.

Btw, im actually 100% sure they are in-game rendered due to the replay theatre that u can unlock, as u can choose which models to u use when u replay key scenes (cut-scene) from the game...play around with it, its actually quite funny to have the big fat woman doing acrobatic moves :P

as for teh other games, I have no idea

Thats not true, yes many of the scenes are in realtime, but there are movie scenes too. The fact that a movies.dat file exsists on the disk is proof of that. Konami seems to make all their games with movies in this format, Zoe1, Zoe2, MGS2, name it. Its likely to prevent exactly what I am trying to do, to extract the movies and encode them so I can watch them on my computer (the fact that they are really one big file with many .pss files in it is proof of that).

I am pretty much interested in encoding the intro, and you have to admit there is no way THAT can be real-time.

Soooo......... anyone? Please?

You can't use FFX movie extractor for kingdom hearts.
I used "MGS2 movie.dat tool" and it convert movie.dat to several PSS files, but when I want demultiplex these pss files with pssplex I get error

As far as i found there a few programs that *claim* to work. Who knows tho unless you test them! There is 1 big program that does work, however its developed by the japaneese and its website and program and everything is all in japaneese so its useless to me as I speak only english. You can find their website by searching on google for ps2 movie extractor or somit along those lines.

Megagames has 2 programs that as I said above *claim* to work so your welcome to go test them out.

Guess I have a 5th game to add to the list........... zone of the enders 1

I had a file extractor that I thaught would work, it extracted all the PSS files, and PSSPLEX was even able to deplex them, but the deplexed movie files would hang or crash any player I tried to use them in.

AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHH!

Is there ANY way to extract/play movies other then the ones that are already in .pss format on the gamedisk?
