Filenames to long for X-box?

I have a problem. Whan I try to copy files eith names longer than 42 letters, it fails.

ex: 12345678912345678912345678912345678912.123 = ok
123456789123456789123456789123456789123.123 = ng

Can this be right, or is there a way around it?
I'v tryed to look through the the other files using a hexeditor, but I can't find any referens to the "long files", so I cant shorten them.
What to do?
