about day of defeat

have u play day of defeat of half life
but i don't know how different between CD version and download from dayof defeat internet server .
why i pay about $US30 to buy cd version not download 180 mb file from internet.

Well... if you purchase the Day of Defeat retail... you'll get the Latest Day of defeat files, Along with latest updated Half Life Valve files - meaning you can play other mods online as well if you purchase dod retail...
If you own an original copy of Half-Life, theres really no need to buy Day of Defeat, seeing how you can still play it as a MOD..

Its the start of the relationship between VALVE and Activision. If you own Half-Life (and a legit CD Key) then just download v1.0 from the usual places. If you dont own Half-Life, then purchase it. Or purchase it to show support and gratitude to the devs of Day of Defeat.

As far as I know, there is no real big difference between v1.0 MOD and v1.0 Retail. Unless VALVE were forced to replace the gun names with other names. (Like Counter-Strike retail)
