Why no error correction???

Hello!

I have read a few topics of how to copy a game and u answer:

Error correction: none

But the CloneCD manual says never use none.
So what does the error correction do???
And what does the Don't repair subchannel data do??? And why should it not be used???

thanx for helping me

I was just serching for settings you always can use.
And i Found them to be:
check:
Read subchannel data form audio and data tracks
fast error skipping (2-5 retryes, none correction)
Raw dao

Amply weak sectors
don't repair subchannel data
always close last session
burn prof

Can these option always be checked or can the burn sometimes fail

I wouldn't use those settings all the time matey.
Read subchannel - - - only needed for securom (mainly)
Fast error skipping - - -only use this if you EXPECT erros (e.g. safedisc) otherwise a slightly marked disc will be read incorrectly.
RAW DAO - - - always use this mode
Amplify weak sectors - - -ONLY use on safedisc2 titles, otherwise you could corrupt your burn attempt.
Don't repair subchannel data - - - no harm ticking this , but unnecessary unless copying a protection based upon subchannel data (securom)

In the end, there are two ways to limit (not exclude) possible burn probs.
One is to read up on the various protections and what they rely upon. This way you'll instantly know which settings to use.
Two is to rely upon progs like ClonyXL which have fixed search params when trying to determine the protection used.

IMHO, I'd use Clony to begin with, but also analyse the discs for yourself so you get an understanding of how they work.

And finally, well done for looking for yourself. It's a refreshing change to see someone trying to answeer their own questions for a change.
Keep it up!
