DC boot disc... please help

Please help me I'm going nuts.

This is the situation...

I bought a DC from someone who said it's modded (internally), but I'm not sure. I would like to play backup games included with system.

What do I do? I've tried to burn UTOPIA v1.1 and v1.2 and failed miserably.

I can't get a boot cd to load on my unit. My DC thinks it's an audio disc! Sometimes it goes to the screen with the setup, controller, mem card and player menu.

Am I burning it wrong? I've used NERO, DISCJUGGLER, and CLONE CD images of both versions of UTOPIA... and I am at a loss.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

You might have one of those 45000 LBA Dreamcasts.

Apparently, it used to work with another loader disc that got broken. That's why I think i'm doing something wrong when burning the disc.

Are you using Disk Juggler to write the discs? Someone told me here that you need to check that you're creating a Mode 2 CD-XA disc. Works 8/10 times for me...

Check whether the DC bootdisk is recognised as audio disk in your computer. If it is then you probably have a bad burn, if it is not I`d say your DC cannot play Cdr but then again, if you say it used to work it is just probably a bad burn.
Try burn it again with files from different sources and change as mentioned above the burner software settings.
Also, take branded blank CDs.
