Safedisk2 newer versions

Hi,

think you all realized, that in some newer games the safedisk2 protection can lead to a 'crash' back to windows even with a 1:1 burned cd(check ghost recon, fifa2002, stronghold, flashpoint). The game is still fully installable, but can't be started).

Some people say, this is because the newer versions of sd2 check for some progz in your registry like clonecd or daemon tools.

Is that true? did anyone check this? and if so, did anyone find out, which programs are banned? would be interesting if someone a little bit more experienced would take a look at this

No, that is not true. Macrovision is steel trying to protect games with adding newer and newer addition code to .exe . If you realy need working game on burned CD, then you need newer unSafeDisk. But r!sc is down. There is only one possible solve of this problem: WAITING FOR ANOTHER man who can try to program newer unSafeDisk.

Sorry for my English.

hey i think this can't be done because if it happens it is a violation of personal documents!and if it happens to the backups it also happens to the originals,so everyone who has an original game protected by safedisk 2 newer versions and has installed clone cd then he wouldn't be able to play the game.well i don't think that this happens, so...

Problem with Ghost Recon? Hmm. Buddy and I have it and have had no problems other than bugs related to game code. We've both made several copies and have heard of no problems.

Medal of Honor took a while to figure out but I sucessfully copied my bought version. I believe it was a newer Safedisk 2.

You may have heard that programs such as PlayBackup, Insektors, and Daemon Tools are 'blacklisted' by the newer versions of SD2. (This causes the game to not get past the loader screen - and it even happens with ORIGINAL games!!), but the developers of the programs just update their programs to get round this. Clone CD certainly isn't blacklisted cos it's a totally legit program.

But your problem, as Packer has just said, probably lies in the ATIP protection that comes with newer versions of SD2 and Securom 2
