Why the hell is the laser screwed? Do you have a Neo chip in there or something?
I didnt know that V7 lasers were that weak?

www.modchip-sbox.com had v7 lasers. Have you tried cleaning your laser first?

check that laser out well as bighap says

Price: US$86.90
This PS2 lens is for the PS2 V7 and V5 PS2 Only. This item is second hand, not new part. Make sure you have the V5 or V7 PS2 before you buy this product.
*All PS2 laser lens are tested before shipment - 100% Working.

it still needs fitting most likely adjusting

whats the price of a new ps2 in the usa ??

The laser has allways given me problems ..

I had a magic 2 installed, and assumed that was the problem, i then had the Messiah 2 installed, still same problem. I had the PS/2 laser recalibrated via a scope, still the same problem ??

The problem i`m having is:

If the ps/2 is cold ( IE: been off for a few hours ) it`ll boot anything, but only once, after running for 15min or so, the PS/2 will lock up, then it wont boot a thing, original or backup.

BTU ... i had the unit modded right from new, so it`s not like i was able to use it for a few weeks before, and its the mod chip causing the problems.

If anyone has any other sugestions, i`d appreciate any input.

BTU ... i use the same media for the X-box, and it works fine. I also have backed a few tiltles up for some mates, and the games work fine for them, its just my box having problems.

If you are looking for instructions on the white cog adjustment they are in thge stickies at the top of the forum. Your problem sounds more like over heating. It could be that whoever put your chip in put it in a bad spot or used the wrong wire.
