I see no reason why copy and paste will not work. The protection does not prevent this from working.
What error do you get?
Is your cd a copy or original?

As an aside, you can try one of many file utilities which will copy files from one place to another. A good source of free/shareware is www.cnet.com

Personally, I use WinOnCd for file copying to/from cd

BOT is on a distinguished road
If you cannot copy and paste then it is obvious that your original cd is damaged.

Hello there,
Try the following (If u r conversant with DOS) :-
Make a boot disk with support for your cdrom drive (you should get one of these with your drive), if not, make a generic (Win 98 or Win Me) one & boot into dos.
Make a directory, & then use the xcopy command to copy all files & folders from cd into this directory.
If it fails it would appear the actual cd is scratched or damaged in some way as BOT said above. Try cleaning both the drive & the cd. This can sometimes help with hairline scratches etc.

Hope it helps.
