General protection fault?
If so, there are many people having this problem. If you search on Google u'll find a solution about changing some ini files. I've tried it but it never fixed it for me - but other's said it has worked for them. It might be down to graphics card. Some people say that updating to the newest Detonator drivers work, others claim it's the DX9 that's the problem, but I doubt this.

krondike is on a distinguished road
I have Windows XP and there is directx 8.1 When I installed the Splinter Cell then patch the general protection fault epears. Then I installed the directx 9 and still the message. What's my point?
Well I don't even think there is a directx 9 fault. Yepp the minum directx is 8.1b but I think it's a another problem.

I've got Radeon. I edit my post when I found out a solution.
Or if the topic is gonna by closed.

Conctact the tech support!

Edit:
Hey again, I solve my problem. But I think it's a bug in the game or something becuase eh read my sultion.

If didn't install the ATI drivers I've just have the Windows XP drivers for my graphic card. Well don't have it install the latsest drivers and of course DirectX9.
But I still got the message, so I was taking a good look in the .ini file. But I didn't find any thing that's has any thing to resultion to do. But I did rember the error are saying somthing about int. So I found a Int there and change it to Eng (Becuase it's was the langugae there was talking about) Int (is probleby International and Eng, well gues).
And then the game start. BUT I changed the Eng to Int again, so I've changed it back from the original setting. But holy crap the game still started. So my question is how in f***ing world can it be?

I think ether is a bug in the game. OR the graphic cards driver hasen't ben installed to fitt the game. But what ever my game works. and it is 1.1 patch. So those who wroted the Splinter Cell crack doesn't work. Well that's bull ****.

My tip.
Install Directx 9
Then graphic card update.
Then restart
Then try to run the game
If the game don't start
Try to run the game again. Or do the very scary thing I did
Sheers

Hey you guys tried reformatting the hard drive or re-installing Windows? When I installed Splinter Cell, I had already these components installed:

1. Direct X 9.0
2. The latest service pack and updates from Microsoft
3. nVIDIA Official Detonator 41.09 (I also tried the game under Official Quadro 42.82 & Official PNY Detonator 43.00)
4. GFX Card: PNY GF4 Ti-4200

Try turning off some background programs & clean out your registry or trash files. Update to latest drivers.
