Please help with backing up a dvd? Please

Hi, I recently purchased a Verbatim DVD+RW/R and it can with Nero Express burnign software. I'm having trouble backing up my dvd movies? I get messages like can not compile cd. I burned the image file to my hard drive and then I tried burning from the image file to the dvd-r media but didn't work? Do dvd's have copy protection like pc games do? And if they do how do I bypass it? For pc games I use clone cd with no problem for backing up but I can't seem to figure out how to back up my dvd movies? please help

Of course dvds have protection. You need to rip the dvd first with Smart Ripper or Dvd Decrypter, then you can burn with Nero.
