Mute your TV.

Shut your windows.

Turn off winamp.

And listen to your PS2. Is it noisy while playing the Princo's ?

I have a 50pak of those sh*t disks. Yeah, they work, but I'd never use them in my PS2. Too noisy; they're working the laser to hard.

I use them for movies only.

my version 5 and version 7 have had sucess with light bottom dvd-r but there is specific dvd laser intense games that are good bench-marks for testing just how good a dvd-r is:

time splitters 2
The Getaway
GTA Vice City
Max Payne

The easiest way, specificially with time splitters 2 and max payne is to make a copy on light bottom dvd-r and then time the loading time compared to the original.

I found that Bulk Paq gen 4 ( CRAP!!! ) would handle most PS2 dvd-r back ups but for intense loading games like the ones above the loading times doubled or tripled and then u would get crashes or freezes in mid game.

Some games were fine though so it was difficult to tell.

I have now ditched light bottomed DVD-r in favour of dark bottom for the simple reason that u never can tell what games r gonna be problematic on light bottom ones.

Any Ritek dark bottom ones seem to work perfect but my favourite are DVDMaster 2X dvd-r which are 100% perfect with version 5 to 7.

DVD Movie back-ups seem to work fine on any dvd-r though with PS2 although DVD Video doesn't work your laser very hard!!

Luv and Dark Bottoms to all!!!

o and my ps2 v 6 i no think i would get ver 3 any time soon or lower prob never

my vice city is on ritek dark and it makes nosie all through the game play its loud to i think its cause it plays music from the raido in the game so i think i will give the light bottoms a try if they get to were they wont make good back ups i will use them on dvd movies i got max payne and vc aldry burned on ritek most games i got r only like 2 or 3 gigs big and that wasted half a dvd like war of monster only 1.6 gig game i think maybe less

I got vice city on dark purple dvd master and it works as the original. I previously had it on verbatim and it crashed before I got to the game. Have also had it on cheap light bottom and it got a bit into the game and freezed but what ever works for you man!!!

Regards!!
