1. You can get evoX skins from http://www.wildabeast.net/.
If you have evoX set up as a dashboard, just put the skins in the "skin" folder.
If you have it on a cd, you can't change the skin after the disk has bean burned, but you can set it what you want before you burn it.

2. It's not a matter of software, it's a matter of hardware. All you need is a modchip, no need for a boot disk.

it boots up. If it doesn't, then you need to use different software to burn the dvd. try DVD X Copy.

To upgrade evolutionX, ftp to your xbox with a program like FlashFXP, then replace the evoxdash.xbe with the newer evoxdash.xbe (usually you have to rename it to evoxdash from default.xbe). Then replace the evox.ini file with the newer one.

And upgrading wouldn't delete them.

hmm, you have the dvd kit right? Thats about the only thing that I can think of that could possibly be wrong. Try different media, a dvd-rw perhaps.

hi

you can also play a burned dvd movie on a un modded xbox providing you burned the movie using dvdxcopy.
i have tested several backup movies and found only those burned with dvdxcopy work on un modded xbox. however if you want to try this with a un modded xbox you do need the dongle and remote kit as with original dvd movies
