C&C Generals Lagg

Hey! Me and a mate of mine bought C&C Generals yesterday,
But after a couple of rounds with the direct ip thing we suddenly started to get some weird lagg... the first times it ran like a dream , but when we came to the sixth round or so, we got some
lagg like every 5 seconds that could go on for 2-10 seconds....
Thats like really annoying.

So my question is : Does anyone have the same problem , if so post a reply or mail me if they have a fix or know something to do.
