G'day WolVerine

As Rincewind suggested to you - use the S E A R C H button & there are numerous threads that have asked similar questions to yours.

Almost daily, this forum gets asked the same question about BF1942 , so if you click the above link I'm sure if you read each post which offers you many suggestions / ideas, one will tickle your fancy.

However, what do you mean by "it doesnt work"..... Can you at least install the game from your backup, but it wont run the game when you click the desktop icon ?

Sounds like the copy you made of the original cd is NOT an exact copy. Safedisc 2 sometimes can be copied, so that the copy kinda works, but any copy of the copy won't work. It can also be that your backup only works in your cdwriter. In any case, the problem is most likely that your backup is not a 100% copy.

G'day WolVerine,

Well if it installs from the backup - but "hangs" when you try to start the game - it is very clear that the backup you made is not a true 1:1 copy. i.e. the Safedisc protection has established that your not using the original disc.

3 Things I can think of here :

1. My backup copy works in my DVD player but not the writer I
backed it up in. So, maybe try a different CD Rom other than
the writer.
No other CD Roms you say ... ? Then, ( & presuming you have
clone CD installed) right click the Sys. Tray icon &
ensure "Hide CDR Media" is ticked. Then start the game
again. With this ticked it hides that your using a CDR disc.

2. If it installs okay - then why use the CD.Simply DOWNLOAD the correct Crack / Fix then you wont need the CD to play the game.

3. Try the Backup with Clone CD using the Protected PC Game
icon. Entrusting you haven't simply Copy/Pasted the image to
the Harddrive & then burned to the disc. Cause that will NOT
make a 1:1 copy (well not for Safedisc anyways). CloneCD
will automatically read the disc & when the write option
comes up - select (my preference) max. 8x record.

The moral of the story - Go For point 2........ easier ..........

eheh.... took a bit longer to type mine up (Rince got in first... but yes my comments have been confirmed by Rincewinds as well.......
