messiah 2 pro install woes
ok, first install of the chip went flawless. played for about 4 hours, switched cd's and it wouldn't load any backed up cd's... rip it apart... loose wire...
after fixing that, I manage to smash the fan wire so the fan doesn't work... splice wire and stupidly forget to wrap it up. turn on and Bzzzzzt. open it up and fan fried. take the fan out (cooling it w/ top off and outlet fan atm) and there is that horrid tinny sound everyone talks about. try the alt clk and moving wires off components etc. nothing. rip chip/wiring completely out. ps2 sound ok w/o chip, so i reinstall chip. tinny sound is gone, but now every 5-10 minutes the sound goes on/off. thought maybe a intermitent connection. check everything, nothing. rip chip out again. re-installed chip, and it is still happening. if chip is out, ps2 sound is normal and good. chip in, it goes off and comes on every 5-10 mins. Think i bzzzzzt'ed my messiah 2 chip? there a way to test it or anything?

The Messiah 2 looks like is a bitch to install. Is it really that much better then the Magic 3.5?
Also is there a diff between the Magic 3.5 and 3.6? some people say the Magic 3.1 is better than the 3.5 but the Magic 3.5 is more expensive? Also here in town no one seems to install Messiah modchips which sucks cause chipping the PS2 to be moded is a lot of cash.

clk
isnt that sound problem related to the clk wire being to long and picking up noise? v5 and v6 decks more than others ? newbie here just finished my first one this week but i think i read that somewhere. i had my own problems. mine crapped out after 15 min. before that everything played great but then it would show the ps1 and ps2 logo's followed by the system setup page everytime i booted up. removed the chip and installed a new one and everything has been great for over 4 hrs of gameplay.

The magic 3.5 is a clip version of the magic 3. The magic 3.6 is the clip version of the magic 3.1. You would still be better off with a messiah 2.
