i need help solder a chip

hi everyone, i just older a absolute modchip for my ps1, and the installation guide show 2 picture of installation for ps1, one is labelled for ps1 old model and the second picture is labelled for
new ps1 model, how do i know my ps1 is old or new can anyone help me out.. my ps1 is SCPH 101... thanks in advance.....

look at the circuit board of your ps1 and if it says pm-41 it's the first version if it says pm-41(2) it's the second version!

i almost forgot, one more question, in the installation it show to solder 6 wires to the board, so there is one wire left out, what should i do with it.. cut it off or leave it alone.... thanks
