dvdxcopy question

When i make backup copies of my dvd's, should most of my movies be stored on two disks? ie scarface, willow stir of echoes?
because i was under the impression that dvdxcopy typically allows you to transfer to one disk

no most dual layered discs only fit onto 2 discs but there is a way where you can copy just the movie onto a dvd-r but no extras

go onto guides then mini dvd and then to copy just the movie,
long process but if it saves an expensive dvd-r every film........
