New To Backup Need Help

I have a SAMSUNG CDRW/DVD SM-308B drive, and I would like to know the best software for making backups useing this drive.
I tried clonecd, some cds it will backup ok but most will not. I also have the clonecd database which will not recognise my drive.
I am fairly new at this so any help on what software to use will be great. I have nero which is ok but I do not know if there is a database for it, and I am clueless on what settings to use to backup some of my games. I have a hundred+ pc games (not copies!) and want to back some up. One became badly damaged so I decided to look at backing up my game cds
THANKX......
