Magic 3 is multiregion for dvd playing?

if i have to buy region x dvd region free..

No mate it doesn't.
So yes dvd region x will be needed. However, be careful and try to get the most recent version. If you have a new machine such as a version 7 and use a old version of dvdregion x it isn't compatible with the dvd drivers. (2 incidents i know where it completly renders the ps2 useless)

You'l still need the dvd region x disc though as only neo4 (Stay away!) and the new messiah 2 clone can do multiregion dvd. I wouldn't trust the clone though until a full review has been made.

how do i know what version i am buying

yeh, the new one doesn't have dongle.

Its in a dvd case (Although some with dongle are 2!)

And if you wanna know what version, ask shop to let you look at the disk and you'l find the version number on the underneath(blue) side of the disk on the rim
