Look at the game itself or the game case.....
It will say: DVD-ROM (dvd based game) Compact Disc (cd based game)

hey ottoman yes it's easy to tell dvd's and cd's but still we all have to start some where we didn't learn to walk on are own we had to have someone to guide us , and DellCompUser just try using the search button on the top of the page or look through some of the threads as this has been answered quite a few times now good luck
