AOE2:TC1.0C LAN CD Problem- Please help- can't get LAN to work

I installed a no CD hack over the M$ofts 1.0c update. Whenever I create a LAN game it identifies my version as CD1.05C. When I start the game it asks for a CD. Even if I use a real CD, it won't start. However, when I join a game, it identifies my version as 1.0C. Do I need to apply a LAN patch from an earlier version first? Do I need to apply any AOE2 patches? Or do I need to back my version down to 1.0B?

Thanks
Rob

Fixed my problem- sort of. Made an Alcohol copy using VLuka's most excellent instructions. Very odd; it runs from the CD and the desktop shortcut, but not from the exe directly .

Would still like to find a way to run this on my LAN with no CD.
