Anyone made a successful 1:1 copy of MOHAA Spearhead?

I have the copy made but as someone has previously said it installs fine, but when you come to play the game the .exe will not run. I can get around this with a v2.11 no cd patch but I don't want to. I want a 1:1 copy or as near as with working from a disc.

I used clonecd 4 and I know it has safedisc2 protection. The thing is the way I copied it was exactly like I did for my successful 1:1 copy of MOHAA. I read an image file to the hardisk. I then placed the image file into this little German program that fixes the bad sector patches (can't remember what it's called off hand as am at work - Beta sector something) I then copied the image to disc very slowly via cloncd 4 again. Now I got MOHAA to work like this but not Spearhead? Anyone have any other alternative suggestions??

Before anyone snipes, yes I have the original copy and yes the backup 1:1 disc is for my own use as I don't want the original to get scratched.

I have no idea what you have just said I am a novice at making backup copies. 'ddump frontend' this does what? and fireburner is a program I guess? but what is an ISO?. Don't want the full explanation it will prolly go over my head, just like:

1. download ddump?
2. copy this..
3. use this program..
4. burn this using fireburner

etc...

Thanks for the info noonie

I use the CloneCd Version 4.2.0.2 and the SafeDisc settings. My copy works 100%. A real 1:1 copy. No problems!!!
I read the image with a DVD Toshiba 1612 and my CDRW is a LiteOn 32x. What`s your problem???
A super Game!!!!!

Thanks alot KingKong

Just made a perfect 1:1 copy doing the above.
The image took a fair while to read using my dvd drive but I guess it did the job. Burned the game at 4x using clony settings for SD2.
Is ther any reason for using the dvd player to read the image? is it better quality ie slower? thanks anyway have a working backup now

er technical question:

how come my backup copy will work at home but not at a friends house. I made him a backup as he couldn't be arsed to download CloneCD. He too has bought the full game, my backup works perfectly at home but at his comes up with the same .exe problem error I originally had? Is it because the CD keys are different?

Mmm... I'll accept that you both have legal versions since you both have different serials. Normally it's not really appreciated here to talk about giving backups to friends. The problem you have is that your copy is NOT an exact copy. There's a problem with EFM encoding somewhere, maybe your writer doesn't fully support it. In any case, kick his lazy butt and make him use clonecd himself on his own original, OR check to see if your writer is fully safedisc 2 compatible. It could be that his writer doesn't support safedisc 2 either, in which case he can only use cracks for his backups or use a Clonecd image in Daemon Tools.
