I do i know its a messiah 2?

Excuse me...can anyone tell my how to make sure the ps2 i 'm buying IS using Messiah 2 chip?Cause the seller said it is...
And i heard NTSC ps2 can only accept messiah 2 and not on messiah 1,therefore i think its safe to said its NOT a messiah 1 CHIP...BUT COULD IT BE a real messiah2?
