Cant burn gameshark cdx, plz help!

I bought EGG in us version, my DC is PAL, i tried it with utopia, it doesent work, so i d-loaded gameshark cdx and burnt the cdi-file to a disc with nero burning rom, but when i put the disc in the DC it acts as if i put in a music cd. What is wrong??? id so appreciate some help!

Im sorry but i have no idea what a read.bin is. In the winrar archive there are two files, "e-gscdx.cdi" and "e-gscdx.nfo". opening the .nfo-file doesent work btw.

Ok, i d-loaded the file u designated, should i burn the kal-eggf.ppf-file together with e-gscdx.cdi on the cd? Is that what u mean by patching??

Ok, I'll start with the basics :
_ a patch is a specific code created to replace another specific code in order to change a program functions (here, you need a patch in order to have your game work on your PAL DC)
_ a ppf file only contains (+/-) the code to change and the place to put it. You need to "apply" it to the image it was made for. So, you need to find "ppf-o-matic" or another patch applier and then patch your image (look on DC Copy World : you'll find these tools).
_ an image is a big file that contains what's on a CD, plus some info. Here, you have a CDI file => a DiscJuggler image.
_ 1st_read.bin file is the very first file that is read on a DC CD (I pass details...). To find it, look a the CD you burnt and that doesn't work on your PAL DC. You should find it with windows explorer in the root directory.

To patch your game :
1) find PPF-O-Matic on DC Copy World

2) laung PPF-O-Matic, open your ppf file, open your CDI file and apply your patch
3) burn your CDI file with DiscJuggler

Thanks for helping me out! Im outta discs right now, but anyway, youre saying i must patch the gameshark cdx-cdi file, right? I just did that, and now the cdi file is on over 700mb, is that correct?

No !

The patch is made for EGG, and if you have an original, you won't be able to patch it...

Buying originals is great, but you can't do anything with them. Too bad.

So, I don't know why GameShark doesn't work for you...
Did you follow the instructions correctly to burn it ?

Download and burn Utopia Boot Disc.
It should solve your problem.

Like i said i tried with utopia already, it works with Ikaruga and bomberman online but not with EGG. Maybe theres a newer verion of utopia which will work? Think i have 1.1

About my gameshark, i dont know if i did it right, i cant read the nfo file, but like i said i burnt the cdi file on a disc with nero burning rom.

You should burn CDI files with DiscJuggler.
NFO files are text files, you should be able to open it with notePad.

So i finally managed to burn a copy of Gameshark, do u think EGG works? Na-ah. Isnt there ANY boot cd that works with EGG? do i have to mod my DC? The gameshark works with Ikaruga(although the picture is a bit off the screen) so i dont think the problem lies there.

thanx for your help anyway, at least ive got a gameshark now...
