There is, but you will end up getting a new PS2 in the long run....if you did so.

there is, it involves taking a knife or small piece of card to your PS2 tray drawer and forcing it open each time to swap discs.
so much easier to purchase a direct boot mod-chip (...or even a no-solder swap mod-chip) MESSIAH say no more
