pal games are released in uk and australia, ntsc games are released most of the rest of the world.i live in the uk and ntsc games will play black and white unless i use a scart lead to play them!
as for your pc hanging disable all programs running in the background(screen savers, anti virus, firewall etc etc) |

Thanks for the response.I think the problem is deeper than a resource conflict.I guess sometimes cdrwin just wont work. Can't come up with any other explanation. In one instance,a demo of NTI worked when cdrwin wouldnt.I assumed my copy had become corrupted. This was an incorrect assumtion.I also have ruled out any burner problem,as copies of copies burn just fine. This has only happened on a few games, but it is a pain anyway..........lol.....Thanks again.

You could also try using Blind write suite from VSO. CDRWin is usually pretty reliable but some games have sub channel data and CDRWin doesn't read the entire sub channel. Blind read ( part of blind write suite) reads whole sub channel and can also make a CDRWIN compatible image incase you need to patch the image. Then use blind write to burn the image onto CD
![]() As for why your computer hangs, this could be a million and one reasons. two common ones are having the CD reader and writer on the same IDE bus. Try having reader on IDE 0 and writer on IDE 1. Another is two copy programs clashing with each other. Try removing all other cd burning software temporarily and seeing if CDRWin works then. You didn't mention if a simulated burn works or not. If simulated burn works then it could be the brand of CDR you are using. Could also be that the version of CDRWIN is not 100% compatible with your writer. Hope this helps. Thanks for the post. The bus isnt the problem because I copy to the hard drive,so only one device is in use at the same time. The sub channel thing may be the problem, but I would have expected cdrwin to burn what data it had even if it was incomplete. My knowledge of burn technical issues is very weak.Since there is no hard drive activity when the burning quits,it must be waiting for data that it isnt receiving.I did sucessfully make a copy of a previously copied game,so the system does work correctly.....

try clonecd then and see if u have the same problem!!
also if u have ezcd creator installed on your pc then uninstall it as it can cause problems with some burning software! |

I will try clonecd the first chance I get. I do have ezcd creator on the pc as well, but this problem appeared before it was installed.
I did look at some .bin and .cue files that were still on my hard drive, but I didnt notice any big differences between the successful burns, and the bad ones. |

get rid of ezcd before u do any more burns, that program should come with a warning about problems with other burning software!!
get your ezcd install disk, bend it to a 90 degree angle and stick it to the end of a shelf to stop your pc games falling off

HAHAHA..I knew it was bad when I heard I heard it referred to as cheesycd......
For some reason the thing never would recognize my Yamaha 20x burner,so I never got any use out of it.... |
