PS2 wont boot PS1/DVD's
This post is regarding my friend.
He has a PAL v4 PS2 with a messiah currently installed. However, he is having trouble booting PS1 Games original and copies, tried the double reset but the titles always hang on a black screen. Also DVD movies will not play at all, hang on a black screen, and if he tries to get it to play from the browser screen it just say's reading disc. Tried multiple films without success with and without the double reset. PS2 Original import, copied CD/DVD games work 100% all direct boot everytime. I thinking it might be some sort of connection problem with the chip. However, i dont know too much about the tech side of the PS2, etc. If someone has any suggestions on what might be the problem, then that would be great, as it would put his mind at rest Thanx!

have a look at the SCEx wire and then E on the CD/DVD Controller.
