Does it contain 2 lasers? 1 for regular cds and 1 specifically for dvds?

So it's possible for your cd diode to go kaput and have ur dvds still working? Drat! Maybe thats what happend to my ps2 not sure though.
Anyone know of a place that sells v5 laser replacements?

well, the diode should *should* be the same one used by most all cd readers
 , i would hope.

Another word if u want to replace it U CAN.
Charlie can it be done by bypass the laser diode with another laser diode using the chipping technique? Dont blow me out ,Its just a suggestion!!

It can't be done by the ordinary person. A replacement laser unto can be bought and fitted.

Ok.
Seem it can't be replace the best option is to replace the dvd drive itself.I think its a lot cheaper than get the laser diode fix Thanks Charlie....

Oh well screw that thought, Bill Ederer just emailed me and the post office totaled my ps2! ARGGHHH.... Anyone know where i can just get a darned pre modded v5 ps2?
