What make is your writer? Mitsumi? If you've got a Mitsumi model you've got a cracker of a writer - will backup just about anything!
Try reading with your writer. Sounds to me like your CD-ROM drive is incapable of doing a RAW read, but I'm not entirely sure. The most popular programs for backing up PSX stuff (copying is a bad word - you never know who's reading), are: Nero CDRWIN CloneCD I have never had much trouble with Nero, but CloneCD is supposed to be better (some games use special protection systems, CloneCD will only back them up). Avoid Adaptec Easy CD Creator - it won't backup PSX stuff. Forget it! In Clone CD, you can actually check what features your drives have; in order to do a 100% backup you need to both read and writer in RW mode. Hope this helps. ++all the best ++ |

Jill:
did u install the mod chip yourself?? I had the same problem when i installed one in my ###ne. It wouldn't load any games at all. didn't matter if it was original or a backup. only way i got it to work was to take the mod chip out. might have been a defective mod chip, or just a bad install...might wanna double ##### your solder connections.. |
