Question some ps2 backups in bl/w-MESSIAH MOD!

a few days ago i modified my PS2 with the MESSIAH-modchip.
all original PAL games playback fine.
all PSX PAL/NTSC(j) backup's/originals playback fine too.
i d/l'd some PS2 backup's and some ONLY playback in BL/W!!
i'm not sure wich are ntsc or pal.
can it be those iso's are patched? or do i need to patch them to play on a PAL machine with the messiah chip?
does any1 have a similar prob? does any1 have a solution for this?
i have a V5 PAL PS2.

that's the problem!

I went thru the same thing.
It's because you are playing a pal game on an ntsc tv (or vice versa)
yes, the problem can be fixed with a patch, if that game has a patch available, check here:
http://ps2chimps.consoleinfo.com/
or
http://www.gamefreax.de/cgi-bin/gamefreax/patches.pl

hope this helps, good luck

Your PAL TV needs to be able to play 60Hz RGB (i.e. be NTSC compatible). The you need either the red/white/yellow lead or the special Blaze PS2 RGB lead 21 pin SCART for NTSC to play properly.

If your TV is olde ror cheap, then ypucan buy an NTSC to PAL convertor. The best is at www.maplin.co.uk; the cheapest is at www.lik-sang.com

I have a Maplin convertor.

ha.. yeah, i understand the ntsc signal.my tv plays them.i have a ntsc-dvd player and it plays on the tv too also psx(1) plays ntsc-games in full color[even without a rgb-scart].

my PS2 plays PSX-NTSC in FULL COLOR, but PS2-NTSC NOT, altho my tv plays ntsc-signal.

mayb its normal? dunno can it be a patch on the iso wich is conflicting with messiah-chip??

I had same problem

I had same prob, after trying loads of other stuff I listened to these dudez advise and got a fully loaded PS2 Scart cable, I've had it running for about 35 minutes now flicker free, I'll keep ya posted.

(Check my post titled NTSC Nastyness)

Still working

Yep indeedie my new cable seems to have done the trick, the one that comes with the PS2 is pants, have you tried using the cable that came with your PS1? if not make sure you put it into the RGB euro scart port in your TV.

Hope it helps out.
