Question Backing up PS2 games

Is it possible to backup PS2 games on CD-R media? Everytime I try it says the media does not have enough space.

Mode 2 Calculation, not Mode 1

Your CDR media's capacity is based on the Mode 1 format, where you get 2048KB/setor, the PS2 CD is in Mode 2, that can get up to 2324 KB/sector. Basically, you get about 10% more data on the disc. The PS2 may read as 675MB, but in fact it may consume the "normal" equivalent of about 620(or less, depending on the layout). You may also run into errors because of copy protection on the PS2 Disc. You need to use one of the more popular utilities mentions on this forum: CDRWIN or CloneCD. I would recommend both--what one doesn't do , the other will.

You also could be looking at a DVD Disc. They will only have about 600MB of PC readable data, but have over 1GB of DVD video. This needs to be done with Primo on a DVD Burner.

Good Luck!
