How to create multi session cd's with one track bootable? (see SHENMUE 2)

Hi all.
I am trying it cause my Shenmue's second cd is corrupted...
So I have just CRC'ed data files but I can't make a multisession cd that contains in one of the data tracks the bootsector(IP.bin)
Example stuff:

1st session:
track01 (mode 2-XA) LBA 0
2nd session
track02 (mode2-XA) LBA 45000 (this track must contains
the bootsector and have
indexes that refers to the 1st
track files)

The issue is that i can make multisession cd with the second track that contains the boot sector but i can t make its indexes referring to files in the first track.
So how it is possible to reproduce a cd like the shenmue2 one is made?

Thanks all.

P.S. Please reply only if you know any possible solution and not asking why I need it or how is it possible.

If you think about this method you will find that it is a nice solution to eliminate the audio gap of those ~27 mb.
Native solution in making selfbootable cd's was the initial audio raw track of about 27 megs.
In some cases these 27 mb of space would be a chance to make no downsample of any movie or other parts of the game.
So in Shenmue2 we can see the latest method in making selfbootable cd's but...there is a but I have lost a day(and about 10 cd's) in trying to reproduce a cd with this tecnique with no results.
Issue is the same: how to make indexes referring to files chosen in the first track and still having the second track with the bootsector built in it.

So what to say? Hope in my spare time I will find an idea about the new method used by Echelon.

Bella!

Have found an interesting option on the command line of CDRECORD and it is 'index=list'.
The matter is: does the index parameter expects an alphanumerical argument or a numerical argument like the offset of the first track?
I will try

Hey !
That's exactly what I wanted to try for Perpetual Blue : I can't make it selfbootable. I try Echelon's tutorial, Bin2Boot, 45000 tirck, ...
So I wanted to make a 1st session with all my files (execpt 1st_read.bin), then make a 2nd session (with 1st_read.bin) and my ip.bin between these 2 sessions.
I didn't have time yet to test that.

If you manage to do it, let us know !!!

Hi M.
As I have just sayd the secret is in the 'index' option of the cdrecord program.
Last evening I have tried using this option but something went wrong and I wasted another cd
Have downloaded a man-page for the usage but it is very simple written and so it did not helped me a lot.
Today a will try to waste another pair of cd.
So I am not alone in trying to make this work
Thanks for your reply.
Bye M.

Here I am again
Have spent a lot of time today that I would not and have tried all possible usage of the 'index' option but nothing went to the right way.
Today I have learned a lot about the msinfo option and about the 'pits' on a cd surface but all my chances to make the index option work did not help me.

Have tried these both methods:

\root\cdrecord -dev=x,x,x -multi -xa1 -index=0,45000 -speed=y MYTRACK01.iso (for the first track) with no results

and

\root\cdrecord -dev=x,x,x -xa1 -index=0,45000 -speed=y MYTRACK02.iso (for the second track) either with no results

As upper sayd nothing happened.
I will retry tomorrow, maybe.
Bye.

Sob
Have tried all the day and nothing...
I know however that the secret is in the first track that must refers to the second one.
Using Isobuster -awesome tool- if you point to the first track of the first session it automatically jumps to the second one.
Have passed some time in searching the web for cdrecord man pages but examples were not good for this case.
So Mega. if you find something useful please do not hesitate to reply.

Maybe I will try something using Cdrwin but I do not believe in this 'little' program.
So if I won t post any reply before tomorrow it will mean I have renounce.
