I have been waiting for the new messiah to come out before purchasing my son his PS2 (hoping a premodded version would become available). If I go to purchase one is there any way to tell what version it may be prior to opening the box? Most retailers will not take returns, only exchanges on opened electronics!

go buy one now
anything apart from scph 39001(this is new version that only just come out not sure if messiahable yet)
anyother u buy new should b v5 or v6 both will b compatible for sure
if u r from uk what u waiting for messiah r everywere(prechipped as well)

Yes, I am in the US. I still need to know if they are identifiable without opening box????

scph39001 is printed on box(u not want this one although i guess it will b included in messiah support they working on it)

scphxxxxxx will b ok
