If you have already tried using AWS or Betablocker, and you have enabled Hide CD-R Media and you still can't get it to work, then your burner isn't capable of correct EFM coding.

You can download a crack at GCW

Check here to see if your burner is capable of correct EFM coding.

There isn't much to applying the crack. Download the crack from GCW (it'll be in either a RAR or ACE archive, use Winrar or Winace to open them respectively).
Replace the original exe on your hard drive with the new cracked one you downloaded.

am i supposed to install the game AND then put in the patch, or when burning replace the original .exe with the new patch and then burn?

also my computer is from dell, my burner doesnt give a specific manufacture name. this is what it says "HL-DT-ST CD-RW"

It says it has correct EFM coding, does that mean it will burn the sectors from the real version to the back up?

Whichever takes your fancy. But be warned that the original exe may be hidden away inside a cab file on the cd so it's hard to get to. If it isn't, and it's out on it's own, then you can replace it on the cd before burning.

Just remember your main aim when applying a crack is to start the game using the cracked exe rather than the original one

I THINK I DID IT! I just copied the files to my HD then pasted the .exe patch into the main directory and burned. I can now install off the back up! But does the second disc the "Data Disc" have the same protection? cause i just made a clean copy of it, and if it does what do i do to bypass THAT protection.

If your burner is capable of perfect EFM coding (2 sheep at the Clone CD site) then you should use the game profile without AWS.

If it has 1 sheep, then use AWS.

Hi Vince89, I was once in the same spot as you are, but with the help of these guys on the board I cracked, their instructions are listed below - hope they work, also try searching the other posts about C&C there you will get the direct links to the tools to help you........

Instructions for SD2.51.021 with Burner. Follow carefully:

1) Read game to image file from the CloneCD at no more than 4X. Tick Fast Error Skip only

2) Download the new modified Betablocker (specially for SD2.51) and patch the image file with it

3) Burn the image file back to CD-R at no more than 6X. Tick Burn-proof and Always Close
Last Session only.

4) Enable Hide CD-R media in Clone CD Tray if trying to play from a writer.

I posted these instructions for the Plex 24X (which has one sheep).
Vince has two sheep so he has no need for Betablocker (it might even ruin the copy). Vince I suggest you make your own Clone CD profile - tick Fast Error Skip while reading, then while burning do not enable AWS.

Then enable Hide CD-R Media if you play the game in your burner
