SSX Snowboarding Supercross Please Help

This is a ea sports game and I have tried using the neo ea universal patcher with cdmage program and I extracted the file successfully and after patching it, imported it successfully. I also tried using the .ppf file patch using the PPF-O-MATIC program and it all said successful. The problem with both copies was when I loaded the game it got to the start screen, then the screen locked up. Anyone know why this could be happening?

I'm using usb external neokey mod chip with game shark 2. System is usa/ntsc.
