For Newbabies about Burning DVD PS2 Games

Here is what I've learned so far:
First get a chip that will work with a backup dvd, like the Messiah.
(I have an external modchip- good for burned cdrom games no good for burned dvd's) I will wait for the messiah 2 in july to come out, that way I won't have any problems. The messiah 2 will work in any PS2 version unlike Messiah 1.
Next get a DVD writer that writes to "DVD-R" The ps2 will not read DVD-RW, DVD+R and DVD+RW. Buy a pioneer A03 or A04 Writer which writes DVD-R. Better off with the A03. Some cheap DVD-R media will work (I heard Meritline works fine, like 25 dvd-r for $40 to $50), but verbatim works the best.

Any other suggestions? There are a lot people clueless like myself, but can figure it out with all you pro's help.

Thanks,
Chris
