problems with my gateway writer/re-writer

I have had problems with my writer/rewriter almost since the day I bought it. The CD door won't open and close properly? Is this a common problem? Is there any advice anyone can give me on how to fix it? thnks

what is the initial problem please explain more clearly ie slow comming out wont open sticks half way etc
