Help needed on copying VCD movies!

I have some vcd movies that i would like to make backup copies of. When i copy all the files on to my pc and burn them onto a cd it doesn't play in my DVD player. It plays on my computer!! All the files are there so what am I'm doing wrong??

The disc you're burning to needs to be in teh "VCD" format: it will have an MPEG folder where you video data goes, and some other folders to tell your DVD player what settings to use.

Also, the format you use to burn your images to the VCD disc is important: most VCD films use the *.DAT or *.MPEG formats; you may need to convert to the best format, as a few players won't recognise some formats. However this is quite a straightforward procedure. Note: *.AVI files won't be recognised by your DVD player.

A good program for creating VCD's is Nerro. A brilliant program for copying them quickly is CloneCD.
