Advice needed on Messiah v4 alternative points
My installer wants to try and avoid connecting to the square chip (not the BIOS). He wants to use the alternative connections for D,E,F and G instead (see china messiah site). Are the alternatives OK? Has anyone else tried these? I've heard that there have been problems with these points.
Thanks in advance... dose |

My earnerst advice to you is NOT to sokder to the vias. If you leave the soldering iron there too long (and it doesn't take much), the via will soften through the mobo and fry the circuitry. Remember it's a multi-layer board.
Your installer is likely to make that mistake in my view if he is not prepared to solder directly to the 8 adjacent legs on the Controller. He should take a razor blade and place it between the legs of the chip and work away from the adjacent chip and to the razor blade. I assume he's got 33 swg wire and a 0.1mm tip with a 15w iron?

at the very minimum, he should have a 0.4 mm tip on the iron.. anything bigger is VERY likely to fuck things up. 0.4 or smaller will do fine, and I recommend using enamelled copper wire. it's easy to solder and alot less likely to cause bridges and shorts. 0.2 mm is recommended, 0.1 mm is easier to solder, tho.
