Booting DMC DVD-r

I cant seem to get DMC to boot, i am using the DMC demo disk and i have a US v5, R-mod, and GS 2 i have treid a few boot methods and i have no luck, if anyone has any success with that game please give me a hand, im gonna go bald soon.

PAL PS2 Consoles DVDr Booting Method


We can confirm that all NEO2.x owners using an AR2 v1.7 / 1.9 on a PAL console can boot DVDR games with a double swap with no patches and no problems


1) Turn on the ps2 with AR2 1.7 (holding down the ON/RESET)
2) Select Start Game (Still Holding ON/RESET)
3) Press EJECT (while still holding the ON/RESET button) and swap AR21.7 with DVD original
4) Press EJECT to close (Wait 10 seconds)
5) Then select WITHOUT CODES. Wait until disc stops
6) Now let go of reset and the tray comes out, Swap DVD original for a backup DVDR press X
just as the tray starts to go back in (IMPORTANT)



NTSC USA PS2 Consoles DVDr Booting Method

JAP PS2 DVDR Booting Method

You need DOA2 original JAP DVD game and Neo 2.2 jap version intalled

Insert original DVD

When playstation logo appears press reset when it reboots should eject, although some times takes a few attempts

Insert backup n play



AR2v2 boots DVD-r's

Load AR2 V2 keeping Resetbutton pressed
- Select Action Replay Codes
- highlight Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX2 Code
- press START
- press EJECT and insert Original-TOC-DVD
- wait 10 Seconds
- now press 'X' on with Codes and 'X' once again
- Error-Message appears: 'Too many Codes'
- original TOC DVD stops spinning (thx, Datel *g*)
- now perform EA Trick (release Reset-Button) & insert DVDR Backup
- press 'X' to confirm Error-Message
- now press Circle twice to enter Mainmenu again
- START GAME, without Codes, press 'X'
- Codes are getting actualised
- DVDR boots

Devil May Cry Jap Boot Method

Boot the game as normal as below,as soon as you see the 'THIS GAME CONTAINS' etc press the START button several times to skip the intro otherwise the game will crash.

Im still having no luck the tray doesnt open when i let go of reset my guess is because my chip is a no soder chip.

Thanks anyway, ill keep looking

I have the same console and mod that you have .My backup boots and plays fine.Load GS2 v2.0. when completely loaded swap with DMC demo. wait 30 sec. then select codes and turn on, or off any code on any game. Press start then select with codes, you will see a black screen saying Updating codes list. Quickly do the r-mod swap you have about 8 sec. Tray will go in and game will load. Hope this helps

ok i did it and it worked, but after the first screen, the one that said "Press start to continue with defalt settings" or something like that but then it froze. And ever since when i hold the eject button down the lights on both the reset and eject buttons flash but the drive doesnt open. I have no idea what could have possibly happened i opened the system up and looked at the connedtions and made sure they were good, and all looks fine. Please help

Sounds like something is wrong with the chip. you may want to contact the seller for a exchange.
