Plexwriter 16/10/40A - Which CDRs best?

Hey,
I bought my Plexwriter to backup my many games using CloneCD and CDRWin. When I burn the games back onto a CD [Hoping The NOCD Crap is unneeded now] I heard you shouldn't burn above 4x and it doesnt matter what cds you use. Which CDs are best if I need good CDs and will this burner be able to get rid of CD Copy protections off my backups? Thanks!
