no cursors on the sims

i got this fing wat lets u play the sims without the disc but the sound does not work and in certain screens the cursor is not there<for instance when u click on a object or person u know thatlittle thing that comes up(well usuallly there is a cursor but there is not)and hen u tri to make family there is also no cursor > could some body plaese help me solve both of these problems

you have to copy the music folder to the root of yor game...

You should't have to do that if you make a decent backup of the game.

I didn't think that you had to if you extract the files form the CD!
